2012 Xceleration VBC

Sydney returns for her 3rd season with Xceleration as a Lessons Coach.  In addition to giving lessons at Xceleration, Sydney was an assistant volleyball coach for the California Bears last season. Prior to Cal, Chute served as a volunteer assistant for the Gaels from 2007-09. Prior to her stint as the Saint Mary's volunteer assistant, Chute was on staff full time as the Gaels' second assistant from 2005-06.  Chute served as a head coach for the NorCal Volleyball Club in 2005 and coached both the men's and women's club volleyball teams at Oregon in 2003-04. She was the 16 Silver's Webfoot Juniors volleyball club head coach in 2003 and was also the head coach for the North Eugene High School junior varsity team for two years. As a Fab 50 recruit out of Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa, Calif., Chute chose to attend Oregon and played as a setter under the direction of head coaches Cathy Nelson and Carl Ferreira from 1999-02. She led the Ducks in assists in three consecutive seasons (1999-01) and is currently Oregon's sixth all-time career leader in assists with 2,156. She also led the Ducks in service aces one season with 39 in 2000. Chute received Pac-10 All-Freshman honorable mention in 1999 and earned Pac-10 All-Academic second team honors in 2001.
