XCELlent NEWS No. 3: AAAH! THE SWEET, SWEET SOUND OF THE WHISTLE
(February 2, 2023) - All Xceleration teams took center stage in various tournaments – at both nearby and faraway locales – during the month of January, and the club could not be more excited to see its athletes take pride in how they played the game and play well against the competition. Some teams found early success, while others were greeted with temporary setbacks. (February 1, 2023) - The tournament organizers, WCVBA, have confirmed locations for the 2023 Presidents Day Showdown that will be held on Feb 18-20, 2023. Final tournament schedules and spectator wristband purchase will be available from the WCVBA Presidents Day Showdown site soon, including any potential updates.

(January 17, 2023) - The competitive season will quickly ramp up, and the next few weeks and months will be extremely busy with respect to league and tournament schedules. Xceleration will make every effort to keep everyone informed when information is announced by tournament organizers. Below is information related to Power League competition for 18 Blue (NCVA) and 12s-17s (WCVBA), including useful links for use in your planning.

WCVBA AM/PM Wave Information
AM WAVES will begin at 8:30 AM to allow more clubs the ability to drive to Saturday morning events. Most teams playing in PM WAVES (3:00 PM start) will play PM the following day. In almost all situations, teams will not change sites between Saturday and Sunday when playing in the Bay Area. PM WAVE on Sundays are formatted to be complete by 5 PM so families get home at a reasonable hour.

XCEL ACADEMY'S TRAINING CAMPS NOW OPEN FOR REGISTRATION!
(January 4, 2023) - We are excited to introduce and announce Xcel Academy’s Training Camps for all players, ages 8-14, who are currently unaffiliated with any club teams (i.e., non-Xcel or non-club team players) during the current 2023 competitive season.
Training camps will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week from 4:15 pm - 5:45 pm, through May 30. These training camps will begin and build on volleyball fundamentals, to lay a solid foundation from which you can elevate your game to the next level. We expect a low coach-to-player ratio, with both individual and group coaching and real-game action during these sessions.
For effectiveness and continuity, our training camps are available on a monthly pay-as-you-go basis only (i.e., there are no weekly drop ins, and missed days are non-refundable and cannot be made up in future sessions). Camp fees will range from $250 - $280 per month, depending on the month you are attending.
All sessions will be held at our Xceleration Facilities at NorCal Courts in Martinez, 360 Ferry Street.

(December 18, 2022) - At the season-opening NCVA Power League Qualifiers (PLQs) held at The Grounds in Roseville, the 18 Blue rose to the occasion and moved up eight spots in the seedings to the #6 position by the end of the tournament weekend and will play in the PLs from a position of strength. There they hope to improve and make headway from that spot for a qualifying ticket to the USAV Junior Nationals in Columbus, OH, next spring. READ MORE.

(November 23, 2022) - When founder and former owner Jon Segall started the Xceleration Volleyball Club in Concord over 17 years ago, he never would have thought where the club would be today – growing, flourishing, and becoming a fixture in the East Bay volleyball community. Naturally, there were some rough patches for anything starting up, but the club has found and continues a track record of success by following the key tenets that it had initially set out in 2005 and still follows today. Jon’s founding principles were simple and could be summed up in three lines: (1) Compete because you love to compete, (2) Win because you love to win, and (3) Play because you love the sport. Mission Statement
Xceleration Volleyball is committed to the improvement of its volleyball players. It is our goal for all participants to learn and/or grow a love for the sport of volleyball and to develop as players who are fundamentally and technically sound. To achieve this, we are committed to employing coaches who share our mission, vision, and values, and are willing to work with us to better themselves and their players. As a club, we will train our players to compete against the best competition locally, regionally, and nationally.
